AIM Internship Program – Grow and Serve
At Hope Network, we believe pastoral leaders can and should be advocates for those who live with disabilities or mental illness.
The Advocates in Ministry Program (AIM) is a cross-cultural ministry experience designed for individuals in seminary or college pursuing church ministry, chaplaincy, or para-church vocations. We believe it is critical that emerging ministry leaders have the encouragement, support, and mentoring they will need to effectively serve all God’s people.
Our Program
AIM participants will complete a one-year internship consisting of 4-5 hours per week that includes pastoral care, case reflections, and interactive learning. Participants will meet regularly with the program director for discussion on ministry related issues, guidance, and opportunities to learn to navigate the challenges, ambiguities, and surprises that may arise in ministering to people with developmental or mental challenges.
Qualifications
AIM participants must be:
- Currently enrolled in seminary or college
- An active member of a local church
- Recommended by sponsoring educational institution/church
- Compassionate and culturally competent
- Available for the duration of the program
The program schedule runs from August to July, but variable schedules may be negotiated prior to the beginning of the internship.
