Hope Network Neuro Rehabilitation Experts Get Published In Brain Injury Professional

May 1, 2018

An article written by Hope Network Neuro Rehabilitation experts, Margaret Kroese and Dr. Martin Waalkes, gets published in Brain Injury Professional (BIP), the official publication of the North American Brain Injury Society.

This special issue centers on post-acute TBI rehabilitation, with specific emphasis on transitional residential rehabilitation services, sometimes referred to as TRR – an intensive, post-hospitalization rehabilitation service model focused on functional recovery and disability mitigation.

Kroese and Waalkes address issues of decision-making capacity in their article, “Post-Acute Transitional Residential Rehabilitation and Changes in Decision-Making Capacity”, which focuses on the possibilities of how to treat patients with changing levels of capacity and the ethical and programmatic challenges involved within the post-acute setting.
