The Solo-Step Fall Protection System offers our patients a safer, more effective way to meet their goals with a cost-efficient method.
The Solo-Step System offers a safe environment for our patients and therapists by supporting a person’s body weight in a harness, connected to an overhead track system. It allows a full range of motion for various gait, mobility, and balance exercises, while giving patients the confidence that they are not going to fall.
“The Solo-Step is ideal for the patients we serve – those who have suffered a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury, stroke or other neurological injury”, says Kim Church, Program Director in East Lansing. “It’s just one more step for us as we continue to expand our services and improve our efficiencies,” continued Church.
There are times when patients are ready to progress to more robust therapy activities that would normally require two staff people, but with the Solo-Step therapists can work one on one with each patient.
It’s refreshing to see patients experience a sense of confidence and achievement while using the Solo-Step, and it also helps them overcome their physical and psychological challenges while they progress through their rehabilitation journey,” says Alicia Hisey, Physical Therapist for Hope Network.
“Using the Solo-Step allows me to challenge my patients to progress to the next level. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to get creative by incorporating additional exercises to assess a patient’s tone and range of motion, “ continued Hisey.
