Speech Therapy
Available with or without an autism diagnosis in Kentwood and Holland.
What is speech therapy at Hope Network like?
It’s individualized, play-based and built around your child.
Our Speech-Language Pathologist, Lauren Vasquez, gets to know each child’s strengths, needs and interests, then uses those interests to create natural opportunities to build communication skills. That might look like playing with a favorite toy, practicing new words, following directions, taking turns or learning to use a communication device. Because every child communicates differently, every session looks a little different too. The goal is to help children build skills they can use not just in therapy, but at home, at school and in everyday life.
Speech therapy can support a wide range of communication needs.
That may include making speech easier to understand, building vocabulary and sentence skills, following directions, or finding better ways to express wants, needs and ideas. Therapy may also include sign language or a communication device when those tools are helpful.
An autism diagnosis is not required.
We serve learners ages 18 months to 21 years.
We accept most insurance.
Our goal is to help your learner build communication skills that they can use in school and at home.
Sessions may focus on skills like asking for help, following directions, answering questions, using words or a communication device, and expressing wants, needs, thoughts and feelings. Lauren also works with families to help reinforce those skills outside of therapy, so progress can carry into home, school and the community.
